Cold mornings and long way from rehab
It is now 8 months from the day I left hospital and over the last 3 weeks I have made so may jumps I cant believe it. After getting over the chest infection I went on a training camp to Spain where I managed 170km on the water in 10days with the only thing holding me back was the 16 blisters on my hands. There was no sign off the surgery holding me back. The sensations have gone except the odd time when I get the hyper sensitive feet. Thats still not a nice feeling, but my stomach feeling has gone, I think thats from this 3min abs circuit I do 3 x per week - its a killer on the abs but has helped so much. Training is going great and coping with lots of volume. However I do get very tired and can find myself in bed at 630pm most nights.

So much nicer than rehab room
My body is going through so many changes right now and keeping on top of the recovery is very important. I now feel like surgery never happend apart from I cant really turn my neck and the left arm and shoulder look strange and different to the right side. However the more I train, the more I can see changes which is a great feeling. It is no doubt that the support I have had from all coaches and Physios has got me here so fast and stopped me rushing and hurting myself. I cant thank you guys enough even though I drive them crazy sometimes as I get frustrated that I cant do certain things I used to do - need to remind myself that I had double spinal surgery not that long ago..........

Remember you get out what you put into anything - A few photos from Spain and one from July 2010 when I first went home to Aviemore, it was a very emotional time and been home with old friends and family meant the world to me... This was a great night where I walked with Euan Mac up the ski hill, what a great feeling it was to reach the car park and the next day I climbed even higher and came close to reaching the snow level...... It is hard to think 7months on from that night I am doing over 300 watts on the bike for 60min and training 7 days a week and it feels comfartable!!! The body can achieve amazing things if you alow your mind to take you there!
